hahaha.... rejuvinizing my LJ!! *smirkgiggle* lots of goings-on over the past... um... 30 days. Even longer since my last public post, actually. So I'll have to catch up on that sometime.
New layout ~ Something I did over the summer during my HBP-induced HP craze. Never used it for anything, so finally got up the energy to change it all up. 8p Oh boy! Am I behind the times.
Eeeerach, and now I've dripped kiwi juice on my pants.
... shouldn't have stayed up so late finishing the layout stuff. But it's so addicting, this whole interweb deal!

| I Caught Fire - The Used |
[25 Aug 2005|06:16pm] |
So I'm at my piano teacher's house right now, and I have 45 minutes to kill before my lesson starts. We arrived here about two hours ago so I could do tutoring, and then I got into a big argument with my mom because we arrived about 10 minutes early. All I said was, "Maybe we should leave a little later next time, it seems like we always arrive too early for everything and have to wait." And then she just bursts out angrily, going on and on about how I'm ungrateful for her driving me places and that I shouldn't be telling her how to drive, but instead thanking her for driving me everywhere! *smacks forehead* Duh! Man, what was I thinking, trying to make a comment like that? *rolleyes*
Augh, I really can't wait until I get my license. So many things this week would have been made so much easier if I just didn't depend on other people all the time for transportation.

| livejournal post... long overdue... |
[22 Aug 2005|11:54pm] |
so yes, a lot has happened since my last post. As more things happened, the task of posting on LJ seemed more and more daunting, so I did what I do best while avoiding work- procrastinate. Yes, this strategy worked quite well, until I made a to-do list with "post on LJ" as one of the components, so I no longer had any excuse to not post if I wanted to complete the list. And soooo... here we are!
( Quick run-down (and pics) of the exciting things I've been doing this summer! )
Too lazy to crop/resize all the photos right now. Now, going off to read Life of Pi!!

Today, I have discovered the wonders of AOL music video streaming.
Bliss.
(.... or rather, as close to bliss you can get on a sloooow dail-up connection).

Just got back from my weeklong camping trip! Will post a recap on a later post, but want to get a couple of things I must take care of out of the way before that.
@ three_eyed_fish - Sorry~ I know told you before that I'd be home on the 14th. *blushes*. Tried calling around 5-ish to encounter the answering machine, so you must have been at drivers ed or swimming or something of the sort. Will try again after finishing this entry- bunches to talk about. // edit- just heard the message you left on my cell... o_O ehm.... you stoned or something? xDD
@ over_themoon - My mom told me you tried calling during the week and that she told you my cell was on at the campsite, while in reality it ran out of batteries quite early on in the trip. eheheh.... sorry about that. Ah, and I just checked my phone messages. So I shall call you back momentarily!
@ neonascent - Sorry I missed your call yesterday! After reading through all your past entries I'm assuming it was about going to the beach- right? Ah well, it would have been fun to go along. Now I'm home, so you can re-call me back if there was anything else important to discuss (love the new icon, btw.)
@ mesmerino - Talked to my dad about your digital camera, and he said he'd be definitely interested, and it solely depended on how much you're asking for it. Aside from the $200-some that other person offered, do you have a minimum asking price/requirements of the sort?

With some extra time today between essay and chemistry, we stopped at Costco and Half Price Books. God I love those stores so much. It's wonderful how the Harry Potter audiobooks that I've been contemplating buying at Borders go up to the $75 level, while at Costco, the same can be found for thirty-some dollars. And same for Half Price Books--- I got one of those super-thick illustrated encyclopedias, a 600-page Illustrated History of the 19th Century, for.... $10. Also, just some interesting-looking fiction book for $3, and a cute blank journal featuring Babar the Elephant on the cover for $4. By buying there instead of another expensive bookstore, I saved around $40 today. Yessss!
I keep hearing these voices outside my window but I can't see where they're coming from. paranoia..... *shifty eyes*

From filifjonka:
1. Grab the nearest book. 2. Open the book to page 123. 3. Find the fifth sentence. 4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions. 5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.
'The hearing's on my floor, in Amelia Bones's office.' from 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' (because HBP is still on my bed from when I was reading it before....)

Augh... I feel nauscious and sick to my stomach. neonascent, I think I have what you had when we were walkng home. I guess it probably was the ice cream, since we both ate some. It must have been poisoned- faulty, at the very least.
I have to tutor tomorrow and I have no idea what to teach.
I'll be going camping in Oregon from August 6 - 14, approximately. Now is the time to begin buying things online that I'm going to need.
Life feels so empty now that the next HP book isn't coming out for another two years. Sigh.
I really can't wait to go to Korea next year.
. . .
This was a waste of a post. =\

Tell me my future, because I'm so tired of thinking for myself:
1. What will I devote myself to for the remainder of high school? 2. What college will I end up going to? 3. What will I major in? 4. How will I pay my way through college? 5. How will I earn my income after graduating? 6. What occupation will I take on for the rest of my life?
Be honest, be accurate. Person closest to actual events wins a prize in 20 years. Ready, set, go!

Let's have three cheers for narrow-mindedness and the use of propoganda to spread cultural misunderstanding! And here we were, thinking the North Koreans were barbaric for killing and torturing humans, when these South Koreans were doing the same to our little furry four-legged friends the entire time! Man, were we mislead. I don't know about you, but I feel so betrayed.

1. Copy and paste your LJ Friends List into an update and leave behind an LJ Cut. 2. If you've met them in person or otherwise know them from the offline world, bold their screenname. If you've only talked to them on the phone, italicize their name. If you've only talked to them online, leave their name alone. If you have someone on your Friends List who has multiple LJ's, only use one and get rid of the rest from the list. 3. Post and let other people copy the meme.

ehhh.. so about that last post (ahem neonascent).... my friends page hasn't updated since the 4th of July, so I was under the impression that everyone on my friends page (including all my communities that I have to filter because they spam up my page with 50+++ posts a day) had just stopped. like that. bam. dead. gone. but that, it appears, is not the case! A miraculous ressurection! My life is complete again.

A bit of DBSK lovin' to ring in the Independence day (from dbsg) But that picture looks pretty obviously altered *raises eyebrows*
Dang, nobody's on LJ anymore... without neonascent's five-times-a-day posts, my friends page is so disconcertingly empty... *sigh*

Out of total and utter boredom last night, I gave myself a manicure while watching "One Hour Photo." complete with a base coat, fortifier, smoother, color, and top coat. And the funny thing is, with 5 different layers on my nails.... they feel no stronger, smoother, or more fortified than they ever have before. o_O I see that I have fallen into the deep and endless chasm that is false advertisement. *siiiiigh*
I seriously want to negotiate the posession of our (my brother and my) Nintendo for the summer. I am undergoing a severe Harvest Moon withdrawal.
[EDIT] How is it I never realized the greatness of kogepan??? And my mashimaro obsession is coming back.... gah, I'm feeling very unnervingly kawaii today.

hehehe..... these are fun.
Today was a great day. Too tired to post details, but it involved raw cookie dough + baking cookies + popcorn + bill and ted's excellent adventure (GREAT movie) + 3 episodes of Clerks + Young Frankenstein + Malcolm in the Middle = well-spent summer day.

| This tee-shirt retailer (www.bustedtees.com) and the descriptions of some of their best shirts |
[26 Jun 2005|10:54pm] |
On the tee-shirt that says "YOUR RETARDED":
I guess this shirt is a booby trap for wannabe grammar police. "Hey", they'll whine, "did you know that your shirt uses the possessive 'your' when it should use the contraction 'you're'?"
At which point you'll shake your head, mutter the words on your shirt, and walk away.
CAMPING IS IN-TENTS
Get it? Intense? In ... tents? Camping can also be done in cabins but that's not as punny.
BORING (in the Nascar logo)
Have you ever been to a NASCAR race? Ever seen one on TV? This shirt goes out to everyone who has unwillingly watched cars go around in a circle for over two hours straight.
JESUS SHAVES
Are you tired of searching for meaning in today's fragmented world? Remember- Jesus saves.
Is your mouth and neck area getting too scruffy? Remember- Jesus shaves.
VISIT CUBA
Among the fine print restrictions: "you may or may not be able to return home."
BEARDS- THEY GROW ON YOU
As a big fan of puns, I must admit that this is one of the best I've seen. But this shirt goes beyond a simple joke- it's a proven fact.
WHAT WOULDN'T JESUS DO?
The New Testament encourages answering questions with other questions as a means of facilitating conversations. So what better way to fully understand what Jesus would do, than by inquiring what he wouldn't do?
ahahahaha.... I love these things. Ones I'd actually buy for myself if I had the moola: x, x, x, x, x, x, x, x, x

So. Up to this point the summer has proved quite uneventful and dissapointing. I'm almost- almost- wishing that school was back in just for the social contact. Seriously, I've been in such a lethargic and apaethetic state since the second day of summer. I am in serious need of some sort of emotional outlet- without the daily drainage of energy at school all my feelings are just staying in me and not put to any constructive use. This is my excuse for bawling my eyes out last night while watching "Pocahontas" on the abc family event channel whatever thingy. No kidding- I wasn't just a little teary eyed when Pocahontas tried to stop John Smith's execution, and it only got worse in the lovers' redition of "If I Never Knew You." Then came the tearful separation when John Smith had to leave to England to heal after sacrifing himself to taking a bullet for Pocahontas' father, but she knew that her people needed her so she stayed behind even though they could never see each other again- augh! I have to stop now, I'm going to break into tears again.
